In my world, children play and laugh very loudly. Memories of my own life are blending with invented memories of my films or related memories.

Nothing dies, everything is always more alive.

From some slides found in an dusty box, to the projector lens, nothing is wasted, everything is transformed. I want life to become a long poem,

funny

sad

beautiful

horrible

anxious

romantic.

An old yellow oilskin.

A photograph without memory.

Childhood is an unique moment, whether it was happy or not. To talk to a dead leaf, to think you’re a jedi and to turn the kitchen into a spaceship, to build a sand-castle and observe for hours the battle between the castle and the waves.

Each one possess its own magic, absurd moment, dream-reality.

And it becomes blurred, we forget and only snatches remain, mislaid.

One sound,

one color,

one smell...

Who knows?

Everything that enchanted us when we were young.

The underlying question is simple:

What have we lost and what is here, under our eyes, fascinating but elusive?

A little like Gus Van Sant with Elephant, he doesn’t question the why but the how, in a very poetic way.

Or Stranger than paradise where Jim Jarmush presents a vision, a contemplative object; certainly with some post-modernist content but we notice only after going through this contemplative stage where you are literally immersed in the world of the film characters.
